Event ReviewOver 850 GPs, attended Pri-Med Update, London, and the meeting was hugely popular, with delegates coming from as far away as Norfolk. The meeting was chaired by Dr Raj Patel and Dr James Kennedy.
Delegates in attendance were engaged in to 5 educational sessions discussing ‘Hypertension and Stroke Prevention’, ‘Elevating Asthma Control in Primary Care through Patient Centred Asthma Management’, the ‘Management of Cardiovascular Risk in the Type 2 Diabetic Patient’ and how ‘Lower is Better for Cholesterol Patients.’ Additionally, Professor Barnett presented a session looking at the importance of adopting a holistic approach to the management of obesity.
Uniquely, the delegates also benefited from the launch of the new Pri-Med Mini Clinics, where delegates had the opportunity to converse with expert clinicians in Mental Health, Pain Management and Dermatology. Dr Saul Halpern, a Consultant Dermatologist at Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham, Kent, Dr Andrew Mogg, Consultant Psychiatrist in the Departments of Psychological Medicine and Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London and Dr Steve Allen, a Consultant at the Royal Berkshire Hospital, Reading then presented a short refresher outlining the frequently asked questions from the day.
